“I had a cold feeling in my stomach before I went under [the water] but I feel really good now.”

“The pastor said that baptism was the proof that my sins had been washed away. I must have had a lot [of sin] because I feel so light now.”

“That water must be full of dead bodies [because] we’re all new creatures now!”

These were some of the comments I overheard during the baptism today at the reservoir. I was actually quite overwhelmed at the significance of what was happening in front of me. Fifteen people confirming their decisions to follow Jesus and proving it by imitating him in baptism. Four years ago none of these folks knew who Jesus was or what he represented; now they are in the Kingdom.
