As I opened my Bible this morning, I asked God to show me what to expect on this trip to Brasil in two weeks. This is what he said:

“This is what the Lord says: This dry valley will be filled with pools of water! You will see neither wind nor rain, says the Lord, but this valley will be filled with water. You will have plenty for yourselves and your cattle and other animals. But this is only a simple thing for the Lord.” 2 Kings 3:16-18

I was stunned. Ubaúna and the surrounding region is definitely a desert area. The imagery that Elisha used in this passage in talking to the kings of Judah and Israel could have just as easily been used to describe where we are going.

I like verse 20: “…soon there was water everywhere.”

I think I’d better get ready to get wet!
