Jeff introduced me to a new term that is quite appropriate for today…”going dark.” The term is an expression used by the hero of the hit television show “24” whenever he is going where he won’t have access to telephone, computer, electronic communications, etc. We are “going dark” in about 30 minutes.
The bus has arrived at the hotel and we are finishing up our “repacking” so we can leave for Ubaúna. We are taking 3 Brasilians with us today (2 are pastors) and have 2 more pastors joining us on Monday. It has been interesting to see the escalation of spiritual “probing” that has been going on since yesterday . . . the Evil One knows we are here. But everything that has threatened to disrupt our plans has been relatively easily overcome. This promises to be quite a conflict. I’m proud to have our crew with us.
We had supper last night with these Brasilians and they were impressed that these “gringos” were willing to come. After supper we strolled the beach and took in all the open market crafts and fares. Unfortunately, bedtime was way too late. Didn’t find the bed until 12:30 — I’m feeling it today.
Everyone is doing great! They are all eager to get this show on the road.
So, we truely want your prayers over the next 5-6 days. You’ll hear from us again on Thursday. We’re going dark . . .
