- A snail can sleep for three years
- Turtles can breathe through their butts
- Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes
- Armadillos are able to contract leprosy
- The ant, when intoxicated, will always fall over to its right side
- Male and female rats may have sex twenty times a day
- A cockroach will live nine days without its head, before it starves to death
- The female pigeon cannot lay eggs if she is alone. In order for her ovaries to function, she must be able to see another pigeon
- The original name for the butterfly was flutterby
- It is physically impossible for pigs to look up into the sky
The value of that knowledge is beyond me. What is more amazing is that there are 305 prophecies about the Messiah in the Old Testament that Jesus fulfilled. According to Lee Strobel in The Case for Christmas, the chances of Jesus simply fulfilling eight of those prophecies is the equivalent of covering the state of Texas with silver dollars two feet deep, marking one of them with an “x,” blindfolding a man and allowing him to roam at will over the whole state, and choosing one coin and that one coin being the one marked with the “x.”
It may be strange that a turtle can breathe through his butt or that a pig can’t look up at the sky, but Jesus being the Messiah is beyond comprehension. What is really amazing is that it proves God loves me.
Amazing!
