This morning I read an interesting description of the manner the Israelites would go into the presence of the Lord while they were wandering around the desert.
Exodus 33.
The Cliff Notes version is that Moses would go into the tent of meeting (tabernacle), the presence of the Lord would descend on and into the tent and they would carry on a conversation “face to face, the way a person speaks to a friend (vs. 11).
On this occasion, after this had occurred, Moses left the tent but his second-in-command, Joshua (who had evidently gone in with him), stayed behind in the tent.
And the presence of the Lord did too.
This got my attention!
What happened in that tent that day?
