It’s Christmas and the tale of the “Three Maji” is being heralded with unbridled enthusiasm.
Old news.
I came across an interesting take on the maji last night. In Swahili, “maji” means “water.” If we can take some literary license, we know that Jesus is the Water of Life. If “maji” means water, then we can contrive a scene where the “bearers of water” travel great distances just to acknowledge the “Water of Life.”
Refreshing, don’t you think?
